At MerseyCare Julie Ann, we Offer Personalised Social and Assisted visits, supporting independence and well-being at home.

We understand that sometimes a little extra support, or simply some friendly company, can make a big difference. Our social and assisted visits are designed to help you maintain your independence while enjoying meaningful interactions and practical assistance in the comfort of your own home.

Whether it’s help with light tasks, a walk to the local shop, or just a chat over a cup of tea, our Care Assistants are here to support your well-being and daily routine.

Why choose Social & Assisted Visits

Promotes Independence and Confidence

Social and assisted visits allow individuals to continue living in their own home while receiving just the right level of support. This balance helps them stay in control of their lives and maintain a sense of independence and dignity.

Tailored Companionship and Support

Regular visits provide meaningful social interaction, helping to reduce loneliness and isolation. Carers build genuine relationships with clients, offering companionship that boosts emotional well-being and mental health.

Flexible and Personalised Support

Unlike the structured routines in care homes, assisted visits are completely tailored. Whether it’s help with shopping, attending social activities, or light housework, care is adapted to suit each person’s lifestyle and preferences.

Encourages Community Engagement

Social visits help clients stay active within their own community — attending clubs, visiting friends, or simply getting out for a walk. This connection to local life helps maintain identity and prevents the social withdrawal often linked to residential care.

Less Disruptive Than Moving Into Home

Home visits allow individuals to stay in a familiar and comfortable environment. There’s no need for a major lifestyle change or emotional upheaval, which can be particularly beneficial for those with dementia or anxiety.

Cost-Effectiveness for Specific Needs

For those who need part-time or moderate levels of support, home care can be more cost-effective than paying for full-time residential care. It also offers flexibility to scale up or down depending on changing needs, avoiding unnecessary expense.

More information and FAQs

Social and assisted visits are flexible, non-medical support services provided in your home. They focus on companionship and help with everyday tasks, such as light cleaning, preparing meals, errand running or simply enjoying a chat over a cup of tea. These visits are ideal for those who value independence but appreciate a little extra help and friendly company.

Yes. Our Care Assistants can accompany you to the shops, help with your grocery list, or run errands on your behalf. Whether it’s picking up a prescription or doing the weekly shop, we’re here to make daily life easier and more manageable.

Care stories

My Mother is 96 years old, and she has 3 carers each day. There are two carers, Karen and Kaisia who are wonderful. They think outside the box and go that extra step. I live 200 miles away and it puts my mind at rest when I know they are taking care of her. My Mum also calls the office if she needs to talk to them, and she always has good things to say about Donna in particular. She is always helpful and knows what she’s doing. Keep up the good work MCJA.

Bob (Son of Service User)

I wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to Mary from MerseyCare Julie Ann for her care and warmth to my Dad. She has been caring for him for over 2 years. I went to see him on Friday afternoon unexpectedly just after lunch, and he had just finished eating when Mary had left him a couple of biscuits and a hot drink. It was all neatly laid out, and he was sitting comfortably and very contented. Knowing that he has such good care is hugely assuring to myself and my brother. Mary consistently goes over and above and in his words: “she is like part of the family”. In these really difficult times, and particularly for the care sector the work you do is really appreciated. It allows my Dad his independence and enables him to stay in his home – and it also has a positive impact on our wider family.

Denise (Daughter of Service User)

My mum has been having carers for the last couple of years from here. We are so happy with the care she has been given. She has 2 visits a day and we have had no problems at all. All of her carers are very supportive and helpful and do their job's amazingly.

Jackie (Daughter of Service User)

I just wanted to say how pleased we are with the carers from MerseyCare, the carer who have been supporting Mum over the last year. In particular her morning carer has gone above and beyond in the way she supports and cares for Mum and it's very much appreciated. Also, she has the ability to make Mum laugh which is so important in difficult circumstances.

Jan (Daughter of Service User)

A professional, empathic and well organised team of people who genuinely care for their clients. The admin and management team are communicative and extremely helpful and the carers are warm, kind and very efficient. I highly recommend for your loved one.
